City Fighters Win Medals At National Kickboxing Championships

Mysuru, KARNATAKA :

Fighters of Elite Academy, Mysuru, have excelled in the WAKO National Kickboxing Championships-2021 organised by Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association, Maharashtra, at Balewadi, Pune, in September.

Syed Abubakar clinched Gold medals in the Seniors Category while M. Satyanand bagged Gold and Silver Medal in the Sub-Junior category.

Ahmed, Mohammed Adnaan, Mohamed Abaan and Mohamed Eshan won Gold Medal and Afreed Khan won Gold and Silver Medals in the Junior Category.

Manav D. Sangwan won Gold Medal in Youngest Cadets.

All the fighters are trained by Mohamed Farjath Iyaz, Chief Instructor and Founder of Elite Academy.

The events, subject to Government approval, will act as selection trials for the upcoming Asian Kickboxing Championships.

Over 1,500 participants from all over India, nearly 21 States took part in this event which was divided into 7 categories (Musical Form, Point Fighting, Kick Light, Low Kick, Light Contact, Full Contact and K-1).

Medal-Winners Of State & Natl. Kickboxing Championship

Mysuru, KARNATAKA :

The students of IKA Karate Academy, Mysuru, have excelled at the 1st State-level Kickboxing Championship organised by Karnataka Kickboxing Sports Association at Yoga Hall, University of Mysore (UoM), recently and have been selected to take part in the national-level event to held in Pune.

Pooja (2 Gold Medals in Point Fight and Light Contact event – 18 years – 52 kg Category), Tasbiya Taskin (Gold – Light Contact and Silver – Point Fight – 15 years – 52 kg) and Keerthana (2 Gold Medals – Point Fight and Light Contact – 16 years – 64 kg);

Kickboxing Contest : Bangalore lad knocks out opponent in just 6 seconds to win Gold Medal in State-Level Kickboxing contest

Mahmood Shariff Zain took part in a full-contact 74-kg bout in Mysore

Bangalore:

Mahmood Shariff Zain, a student at Dayananda Sagar College here, has won the gold medal in the Karnataka State-level Kickboxing Championship 2015-15.

He knocked out his opponent in just six seconds in the full-contact 74-kg bout held at Annaporna Complex, 2ndFloor, 1st Stage, Hebbal, Mysore, on March 27.

Zain, a resident of BTM Layout, trains at the Indian Combat Sports Academy located at 55, 2nd Floor, Bannerghatta main road, UCO Bank building, Bangalore-560076.

The win promises to be a stepping stone to a bright career in a sport that is mostly played to beat stress and get back in shape.
