Moinul Haque of village Bilashipara in Dhubri district of western Assam once lived in appalling poverty and even had to go hungry on many days. Having worked his way to a better life, this man in his late forties is now providing livelihood to 300 families but also ensuring they get basic amenities of life.

Not only he pays wages to his workers, but he also provides them with the basic facilities of education and health, and he also ensures drinking water, healthcare, and education for the children of brick kiln workers.

In a conversation with Awaz -The Voice, the soft-spoken Moinul Haque alias Baltuk said that as a child he had to work hard to survive.

He was born in Chokapara-Naoda, a backward village in the Lakshiganj area of the Bilashipara subdivision. His father, Sabed Ali, a fish trader, and his mother, Manuwara Bibi, a domestic help, had many dreams for their children yet no means to fulfill them.

Moinul’s parents enrolled him in a nearby government primary school even as the sustenance of a family comprising two sons and four daughters was getting difficult for  Sabed Ali.

As luck would have it, Sabed Ali’s health started falling.

“It was difficult for us to support a family of eight and take care of my father. As a result, sometimes we had to go to sleep hungry. One day, I finally dropped out of school due to poverty. I was eight years old.

“I was thinking about how I could support my family. I started baking papad at the street corners and selling them. After making some money, I started selling betel nuts (Tamol) along with papad on a table perched on the roadside,” he said.

Within 3-4 years, he expanded his small shop into a grocery store.

Moinul was just beginning to flourish in his trade when his father, Sabed Ali became paralyzed. Now he got worried about the fate of his family.

However, Moinul kept his focus on business and started trading fish.

He bought fish from Hatipota, Tilapara, Shalkocha, and other areas riding an old bicycle in the wee hours of the day. He sold it in Bilashipara and Beltali markets.

He did well and after some time, he expanded trading to sand, stone chips, and timber.

At the age of 20, Moinul got married.

He managed to marry all his sisters within five years. He also worked as an associate of various construction contractors. However, his hunger for success did not end there.

Alongside his business, he also volunteered to get associated with various social activities. He realized that the people of western Assam, especially the Muslims, were backward in many facets of life.

He set up a brick kiln at His enterprise has provided livelihood to about 300 families in the area. Most of these families are economically backward Muslims.

He also provided these families with basic facilities like healthcare, hygienic drinking water, and education.

How Safna Nazarudeen Became Kerala’s Youngest Muslim Woman IAS Officer

Valiyavila (Thiruvananthapuram) , KERALA :

Safna Nazarudeen, youngest Muslim woman from Kerala to crack UPSC with All India Rank 45, now serves as Labour Commissioner. Her journey from a Kendriya Vidyalaya student to an IAS officer reveals the power of early focus, disciplined routines and a desire to serve.

Growing up in Valiyavila, Thiruvananthapuram, Safna Nazarudeen was surrounded by the world of public service. Her father rose from the ranks of the Kerala Police, eventually retiring as an inspector. Her mother worked as a typist in the state employment exchange. From an early age, Safna watched the values of discipline, dedication, and community service take shape in her household.

It was around class 8 when she first entertained the idea of joining the civil services, not because she knew the mechanics of the exam, but because she sensed that an IAS officer could do a lot for society.

She attended Kendriya Vidyalaya, excelling academically and choosing the social sciences stream, against her father’s wish for science. Undeterred, she pursued a BA in Economics at Mar Ivanios College, topping the Kerala University in her batch.

CRACKING THE UPSC IN HER FIRST ATTEMPT

In 2020, at the age of 23, Safna cleared the Union Public Service Commission exam in her first attempt, securing All India Rank 45. She became the youngest Muslim woman from Kerala to enter the IAS.

Her preparation followed a rigorous pattern: she turned off social media, spent two hours daily on newspapers, attended coaching classes, and devoted 7-10 hours to self-study every day. She also kept a dedicated notebook to jot down what she studied for weekend revision.

Public speaking was a challenge at first, so she practised by speaking on selected topics daily in front of a mirror, a method suggested by her mentors.

FROM ASSISTANT COLLECTOR TO LABOUR COMMISSIONER

Once she entered the Kerala cadre of the IAS (Batch 2020), Safna was posted in Malappuram district as Deputy or Assistant Collector. Over time, she rose to become the Labour Commissioner, heading the Labour Commissionerate, Government of Kerala (Thozhil Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram).

Her role now involves dealing with migrant labour issues, irregular employment, unemployment and implementation of labour laws across multiple industries.

In a recent government order, she was also given an additional charge as Director of the Fisheries Department.

VALUES, APPROACH AND LEADERSHIP STYLE

While the public often assumes that bureaucrats are always under strong political pressure, Safna says the reality is more complex. Multiple stakeholders need to be consulted and aligned before solutions that benefit all can be implemented. She says that while busy days are inevitable, there are also comparatively lighter days and that the job offers a mix of responsibility and reasonable balance.

Her early life, seeing a working‐class household, understanding privilege and the importance of service, shaped her commitment. She has spoken of recognising during her school days that she was more privileged than many, and that propelled her to aspire to serve people who were less advantaged.

WHAT HER STORY OFFERS TO ASPIRANTS

  • Start early with your goal: Safna’s idea of joining IAS surfaced as a teenager, even without full clarity of the exam system.
  • Make your dream your own: It wasn’t family pressure; it was her personal choice, and she owned it.
  • Structure matters: A disciplined routine, self-study and regular revision helped build momentum.
  • Complement knowledge with skills: She recognised the importance of speaking and presentation early.
  • Service mindset: Her ambition was not just personal status but to bring change and fairness for others.

LOOKING FORWARD

At a still young age in her bureaucratic career, Safna’s journey is already remarkable. But there is room ahead for deeper policy initiatives, sectoral reforms in labour, and perhaps district- or state-wide programmes that shape livelihoods and rights. Her trajectory suggests that when the aspiration aligns with preparation and execution, leadership roles in public service open up, and they carry the potential to impact lives.

Mohammad Furkan Shoaib Unveils Revolutionary Flying Supercar Powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Kannauj (Kanpur), UTTAR PRADESH :

Jaipur :

In a groundbreaking revelation, Roxtern Aerospace has introduced a paradigm-shift flying supercar, harnessing the cutting-edge power of hydrogen fuel cell technology. This visionary aircraft, conceptualized and brought to life under the inventive leadership of CEO and Chief Inventor Mohammad Furkan Shoaib, is poised to redefine the aviation industry with its exceptional blend of efficiency, speed, and safety.

Mohammad Furkan shared exciting news from Roxtern Aerospace about the unveiling of their innovative Flying Supercar powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology. A patent has been published for this supercar, which promises quieter take-offs, faster speeds, improved safety, and zero emissions.

Specifications Overview

The Roxtern Aerospace flying supercar stands as a pinnacle of innovation, tailored for urban air mobility and intercity flights. With a two-passenger payload capacity, this sleek vehicle spans 10.5 meters in length, flaunts an 11-meter wingspan, and reaches a height of 2.3 meters. Boasting a maximum takeoff weight of 1450 kg and an empty weight of 1250 kg, the flying supercar achieves a remarkable endurance of 100 minutes, propelling itself at speeds of up to 300 km/h and covering a substantial range of 500 km.

Propulsion System

The heart of this marvel lies in Roxtern Aerospace’s unwavering commitment to efficiency and innovation. Eight propellers, strategically mounted for vertical takeoff and landing, not only minimize propeller noise for discreet take-offs and landings but also reduce disc loading and enhance hovering efficiency. During horizontal flight, a sophisticated electric jet engine comprising 12 units ensures higher forward flight speed and efficiency, making it an optimal choice for swift intercity travel.

Safety Features

Roxtern Aerospace’s flying supercar distinguishes itself with a comprehensive safety system. Multiple motors and propellers facilitate safe vertical takeoff and landing, ensuring a secure descent in the event of propeller or motor failure. Simultaneously, multiple electric jet engines engage during cruise flight, providing redundancy in case of engine failure, elevating the overall safety profile of the aircraft.

To further fortify safety, multiple hydrogen fuel cells power the aircraft, offering redundancy in case of fuel cell failure. The incorporation of multiple batteries acts as a fail-safe mechanism, ensuring a secure landing in the event of a complete fuel cell system failure.

Additional Safety Measures

In a testament to safety innovation, Roxtern Aerospace has incorporated features to mitigate risks during unforeseen circumstances. Parachutes, seamlessly integrated and ready to deploy in the event of multiple motor and propeller failures, guarantee a safe descent to the ground.

Furthermore, strategically placed airbags within the aircraft are designed to eject and reduce crash forces during emergency landings on both solid ground and water surfaces. This additional layer of safety underscores Roxtern Aerospace’s unwavering commitment to passenger well-being and accident prevention.

The unveiling of Roxtern Aerospace’s flying supercar, spearheaded by Shoaib’s inventive leadership, signifies a pivotal shift in the aerospace industry. By merging cutting-edge technology with an unyielding commitment to safety, this aircraft emerges as a key player in shaping the future of urban air mobility and intercity travel.

Earlier in September 2021, the world was introduced to Asia’s first hybrid flying car, developed by Vinata Aeromobility. The innovator behind Asia’s first hybrid flying car, Mohammed Furkan Shoaib, was the chief technology officer of Vinata Aeromibility, a start-up based in Chennai.
