Karnataka has highest number of top scorers in CLAT-2023 UG and PG

KARNATAKA :

Two candidates, one each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, secured 100 percentile and emerged as all India toppers.

Eight students from Karnataka, the highest for any State, have emerged as top scorers in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT-2023) results for undergraduate and postgraduate streams declared by the Consortium of National Law Universities on December 23, Friday.

Two candidates, one each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, secured 100 percentile and emerged as all India toppers. One candidate from Karnataka secured a percentile of 99.97, two secured 99.96 and one each secured a percentile of 99.95, 99.94, 99.93 and 99.92 in CLAT UG from Karnataka.

Kshitika Tyagi of Bengaluru got an All India Rank (AIR) of 12 with 106.75 score and a percentile of 99.97 in CLAT-2023 UG. Speaking to The Hindu, she said she started preparing for the exam and found the subject very interesting. “I want to join the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru,” she said.

Another topper from Karnataka, Ayesha Khan, AIR 17 with 105.75 score and 99.96 percentile, said her dream had come true. “From a very young age, I always wanted to be a lawyer, and I will be one now,” she said. 

The CLAT-2023 was conducted at 127 centres in 23 States and two Union Territories. A total of 94.87% of the candidates who enrolled appeared for the examination, of which 56% are females 44% are males and 2 are transgenders.

The duration of the CLAT 2023 UG test was 120 minutes. The test had five sections, with a total of 150 questions. One question was withdrawn in the final answer key. The highest mark secured in CLAT 2023 UG is 116.75. CLAT 2023 PG had one section comprising 120 questions and the highest mark secured is 95.25.

Convocation 2021: Ahmed Uzair captures KGMU’ s all three Chancellor Heavett and University medals

Convocation 2021:

The convocation ceremony of KGMU will be held on December 17. 42 meritorious people will be awarded with Gold, Bronze and Silver medals.

In this, 24 girls and 18 boys have won medals.

Foundation Day celebrations will be celebrated on 18th December. In this, 90 medals will be awarded to 57 students. In this also the female students continue to dominate. 38 meritorious girl students will be decorated with medals around their necks, while 19 students have succeeded in capturing the medals. In both the ceremonies, 154 medals and prizes will be given to the meritorious.

This information was given by Vice Chancellor Dr. Bipin Puri on Monday.

Name of the three medals for Uzair :
In the Brown Hall, the Vice Chancellor told a press conference that the celebrations would be held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Center. Vice Chancellor Dr. Bipin Puri informed that MBBS student Ahmed Uzair has won the most prestigious Chancellor of KGMU, Hewett and University Gold Medal.

After a long time, a meritorious has captured all the three medals. Uzair will get the maximum 13 gold in the convocation. There will also be a book prize and a silver medal. The Vice-Chancellor said that MBBS student Shivam Singh would be awarded four gold and one silver medal. MBBS student Akanksha Singh will get a gold medal.

Prime Minister can be the chief guest
Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be the chief guest of the function. The administration has intensified the preparations for his arrival. The Vice Chancellor said that an invitation has been sent to the Prime Minister. There is every chance of them coming. Governor Anandiben Patel will preside over the convocation. He said that Justice Ramesh Sinha of the High Court would be present at the foundation day celebrations.

Two new medals
Medical Dean Dr. Uma Singh informed that two new medals have been started this year. Gold medal has been started in the name of Dr. GK Malik, former Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. Medals are being awarded to the student securing the highest marks in the written paper in Neonatal. Whereas Gold Medal has been started in the memory of Dr. BN Dhawan in the Department of Pharmacology.

Work in research
“Hard work never goes in vain,” said Ahmed Uzair, chancellor, Hewett, and university medical laureate. I never studied for a medal. To become a better doctor and researcher, he has worked hard day and night.

It gives great pleasure to receive all three prestigious medals of KGMU. It feels good if you get the fruits of your hard work.

My father Dr. Maulana Mohammad Ansari, mother Dr. Shahla Haleem and maternal grandfather Dr. Abdul Halim are also doctors.

All the members of the house are associated with the service of humanity. That’s why I also have an inclination to become a doctor from the beginning. I am a student of MBBS 2016 batch.

Many research papers have been published till now. That’s why we have to go ahead in the field of research. Under the same, got a job in Drugs Medical School to do research work in neuro surgery. For research area, the company office will have to go to New Jersey, US.

Going into surgery

While the father has retired from the bank. At present, work has to be done by staying in KGMU. In the future, I have to become a plastic surgeon so that the faces of people who have been burnt in the fire can be cured. My husband is also a doctor in KGMU.

Dreamed of becoming a doctor after seeing Aprin and Aala
Dr. TN Chawla Gold Medal Dennistry winner Dr. Neeti Solanki said, ‘I had a dream to become a doctor since childhood. Seeing Aprin and Aala in childhood, he decided to become a doctor. After working hard, I have achieved this position. Some marks could not get admission in MBBS. But got a seat in Dental. Now we have to move forward in the field of dental. I am working in prosthodontistry. I am the first doctor in my house. Mother is a housewife and father is a businessman.

Gabbar Singh’s Brother, TV Actress’s Husband? Bollywood Villain Imtiaz Khan Was More Than That

Actor Imtiaz Khan, who passed away at 77 in Mumbai, has acted in 80-odd Hindi films, mostly in negative roles, from 1970s and 1990s, and made a mark in theatre long before he was drawn to movies.

Gabbar Singh’s brother? Jayant’s son? Or, a television actress’s husband? Actor Imtiaz Khan, who passed away at 77 in Mumbai, was much more than that in his own right. It is a pity that post-demise, he is being remembered more for the achievements of his younger brother, father and wife than his own.

Imtiaz, who acted in 80-odd Hindi films, mostly in negative roles, from 1970s and 1990s, was a trained actor who had made a mark in theatre long before he was drawn to movies. Though he was a reluctant actor to begin with and always wanted to make a mark in direction, he became a much sought-after villain with his talent and commanding screen presence. He exuded meanness in every frame on screen betraying no sign of the virtues of a fine gentleman he was in his real life.

Imtiaz shot into fame with three back-to-back hits with Nasir Hussain’s Yaadon Ki Baarat (1973), Tahir Hussain’s Zakhmi (1975) and Feroz Khan’s Dharmatma (1975) in the mid-seventies. These films had fallen into his kitty after he made an impressive debut in Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche (1972), a surprise hit which led its producers, Ramsay Brothers, to set up a factory of low-budget horror films.

Imtiaz went on to do many more films, often as the main villain in low-budget flicks and a henchman in the big ones, but he failed to capitalise on his initial success. With the emergence of his younger brother, Amzad Khan, as a phenomenon with his iconic portrayal of Gabbar Singh in Ramesh Sippy’s 1975-multistarrer, Sholay, the filmmakers seemed to lose interest in him. But he did justice to all his roles, howsoever minuscule they may have been.

Unfortunately, while Amjad managed to get out of his image trap despite having played an unforgettable Gabbar Singh by doing films like Dada (1979), Qurbani (1980) and Love Story (1981), Imtiaz did not get any decent role in any role other than that of a menacing bad man to prove his versatility, something which somewhat disillusioned him in later years. He tried his hand at making films but his ambitious Feroz Khan-Sulakshna Pandit-Amjad Khan starrer, Shikar Shikari Ka (1976) remained in the cans. In his early years, he had learnt film-making as an assistant to veteran director Chetan Anand and was actually instrumental in getting Amzad his first role in his 1975 war movie, Hindustan Ki Kasam but he could not take his career as a director far.

As a matter of fact, it was under Imtiaz’s direction in a play called Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon after the Chinese aggression in the 1960s that Amjad’s acting talent was first noticed and finally led to his selection many years later in the stellar role in Sholay. Imtiaz, incidentally, had begun his career as a child artiste in the 1950s but all through his career, he was recognised first as veteran actor Jayant’s son and then, as Amjad Khan’s brother. In the television era, he even came to be known as the husband of actress Krutika Desai of Buniyaad (1986) fame. But he was undoubtedly an accomplished actor both in theatre and cinema who deserved to be remembered as such in the annals of Hindi cinema.
