Energia opens Corporate Service Center in Mangaluru, eyes future renewable projects in India

Energia on Sunday inaugurated its Corporate Service Center in Mangaluru, marking a step towards strengthening its global corporate operations and expanding its presence in India.

The new office was inaugurated in the presence of U. T. Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, and NRI Busnessman Dr. Ronald Colaco along with members of Mangaluru’s business and community circles.

The ceremony was led by Shahid Hassan, CEO of Energia, along with Mohin Sheikh, Managing Director, Rajan Mengoth, Operations Director, and Mehboob, Chairman of Energia. Senior officials and team members of the company were also present.

The Mangaluru Corporate Service Center will function as a dedicated support office for Energia’s operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company said the centre will help improve coordination, strengthen back-end support and enhance governance across key corporate functions. It is expected to improve service delivery through structured processes and better operational control.

Energia stated that the new centre will create employment opportunities in Mangaluru, particularly in corporate services and support roles. The company also plans to introduce structured career pathways and skill development programmes for professionals in the region.

While the immediate focus of the centre will be to support overseas operations, Energia said it intends to deepen its long-term engagement in India. The company indicated that it is exploring opportunities in the renewable energy sector in line with India’s expanding clean energy landscape. The Mangaluru office is expected to act as a base for future partnerships and renewable initiatives in the country.

“This Corporate Service Center reflects Energia’s long-term commitment to building strong capability and governance. Mangalore gives us access to high-quality talent, and this office will play a critical role in supporting our Saudi operations while also helping us prepare for future renewable initiatives in India,” said Shahid Hassan, CEO of Energia.

Among those present at the event were Chairman of State Allied and Health Care Council UT Iftikhar Ali, President of New Jumma Masjid Sharif Whitestone, Chairman of Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry SM Rasheed Haji, Founder of Team B-Human Asif Deal, Dr Haroon Hussain and others.

Dr. Syed Anwar Khursheed, a renowned Indian physician based in Saudi Arabia, has been honoured with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award 2025, the highest recognition given by the Government of India to overseas Indians. This accolade celebrates his exceptional contributions to healthcare, community welfare, and fostering stronger ties between India and Saudi Arabia.

With an illustrious career spanning over 45 years, Dr. Khursheed has held pivotal roles, including three decades of service at King Faisal Hospital and 10 years as a Royal Protocol Physician at the National Guard Hospital. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was a beacon of support for the Indian diaspora, offering essential healthcare, vaccine advocacy, and 24/7 consultations. He also provided unwavering support to Indian pilgrims during Hajj, offering medical assistance at Mina and Arafat for over 30 years. Notably, he served as the personal physician to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Khursheed’s contributions extend beyond healthcare to education and community development.

He established the International Indian School in Taif, promoting academic excellence and cultural integration for Indian expatriates.

His philanthropic endeavours include supporting underprivileged Indians through collaborations with organisations such as the Gulbarga Welfare Society and MESCO.

Since January 2021, he has also served as Vice President of the Saudi-Indian Healthcare Forum, an initiative under the Embassy of India in Riyadh.

Fluent in Arabic and deeply connected to Saudi culture, Dr. Khursheed has been a vital link between India and Saudi Arabia, enhancing bilateral relations in the domains of healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship. Mansur Ali Ahmed elected as Ameer in Annual meeting of Jamiatul Falah National Regional Coordination

The annual meeting of the Jamiatul Falah National Regional Coordination Committee, Saudi Arabia, was held at the Red Pot Restaurant in the city on Friday, February 23.

Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District delegates of Jamiatul Falah as well as delegates from Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Jubail attended the annual meeting.

Dammam Unit President JF Shareef Karkala, JFCC President Shahul Hameed KK and Ameer Mansoor were present in the meeting.

The delegates unanimously elected Mansur Ali Ahmed as the “Ameer” for the year 2024-25.

The meeting, which was moderated by Siraj, concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by lunch.
