Saba Khatoon and Nahid Fatema were awarded PhD.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has declared Saba Khatoon daughter of Zurar Ahmed Khan qualified for the award of Doctor of Philosophy in English. She has worked on the topic “Integration of ICT in English Teaching Practice: An Assessment of Osmania University B.Ed. Programme” under the supervision of Prof. Nagendra Kottacheruvu, Professor, Department of English, MANUU.

The viva-voce was held on 01st March, 2024. Ms. Saba Khatoon is working as Assistant Professor at Dept. of Education & Training, MANUU.

Nahid Fatema awarded PhD
Besides, Nahid Fatema daughter of Tufail Ahmed qualified for the award of Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry. She has worked on the topic “Computational Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Antidepressant Molecules” under the supervision of Dr Qasim Ullah, Assistant Professor, Chemistry, School of Sciences, MANUU and Dr M Vijulatha, I/c Vice-Chancellor, Telangana Mahila Viswavidhyalaya, Hyderabad was the Co-supervisor. The viva-voce was held on 14th August, 2024.

New courses for women
According to the National Education Policy 2020, educational institutions now no longer have to wait for students but they have to reach out to them for delivering educational services. As per NEP guidelines, Maulana Azad National Urdu University will expand its campus and start new courses for women at Urdu Hall, Himayat Nagar as well. These views were expressed today by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, MANUU during the inaugural session of the Seminar “Urdu University se Taleem meri Kamiyabi ka Raaz” organized by Dean Alumni Affairs and MANUU Alumni Associations.

In his presidential address, Prof. Ainul Hassan said the Evening College was successfully launched at Manu Model School, Hyderabad in the current academic session. He assured the Alumni that Urdu University would provide all possible support to them if they work for the cause of the University. He advised the Alumni to take all possible steps to connect the Urdu-speaking community across the state with the University. He said that through discussion we will be aware of each other’s views, can be able to know common interests and come to the point to work in this regard. Through the success of MANUU Alumni, the current students and University on whole will be benefitted, he added. The Vice-Chancellor also distributed Certificates to the participants.

Prof Syed Najamul Hasan, Coordinator, Dean Alumni Affairs in his opening remarks briefed about the seminar. Dr Mohd. Mustafa Ali, Associate Professor MCJ & coordinator seminar delivered a welcome address and convened the programme. Aijaz Ali Quraishi, President, MANUU Alumni Association presented the vote of thanks.

Prominent Alumni of the university presented their papers on the occasion.

MANUU honours five persons from Hyderabad as ‘Sitara-e-Urdu’

Hyderabad: 

Urdu lovers exist and MANUU will bring them to its platform and honour them, said Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).

He was honoring five eminent personalities from Hyderabad as “Sitara-e-Urdu” (Doyens of Urdu). The university presented Lakshmi Devi Raj,  Syed Jafar Amir Rizvi, Shahid Husain Zuberi, Oudesh Rani Bawa and Mazhar uz Zaman Khan with a memento, a shawl, and a flower plant in recognition of their contribution towards Urdu language, literature and culture on Monday.

The ‘Sitara-e-Urdu’ programme was organized by Centre for Urdu Culture Studies on the occasion of Teacher’s Day at CPDUMT auditorium.

Hyderabad: MANUU-made films bag top honours at CEC UGC Festival

The film ‘Alzahravi’ bagged the best film award in the category of Best Visual Effects and Animation whereas ‘Polymer, the Promise of PDMS’ has been recommended for a citation.

Hyderabad: 

Two films of the Instructional Media Centre, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) produced under the MANUU Knowledge Series have won accolades at the 24th CEC UGC Educational Video Festival organized by Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), an Inter-University Centres set up by the University Grants Commission.

The film ‘Alzahravi’ bagged the best film award in the category of Best Visual Effects and Animation whereas ‘Polymer, the Promise of PDMS’ has been recommended for a citation under the Best Film Documentary award category along with the other three films.

According to Rizwan Ahmad, Director, IMC, the film Alzahravi by Omer Azmi, Producer IMC explores the life, struggles, and achievements of the renowned scholar, Alzahravi, and his contributions to the field of medicine. 

Polymer, the Promise of PDMS by Obaidulla Raihan, Cameraperson, is a thought-provoking film based on a research output by researchers from the Central University of Hyderabad, where they have developed a polymeric material which is graphene base media mists smart composite material which will revolutionise the technology in near future.

Prof Syed Ainul Hasan, the Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the centre on this achievement and said IMC is steadily gaining recognition for its unique and thought-provoking approach to digital media. Appreciating the Media Centre Team’s effort who met him today at his office the Vice-Chancellor expressed the hope that the MANUU knowledge Series will continue to inspire and educate audiences and contribute to the growth and development of Urdu and dissemination of knowledge.

Rizwan Ahmad said both films were also selected previously at various film festivals nationally and internationally. This honour is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the directors of the films and the entire team. MANUU Knowledge Series aims to promote the Urdu language and culture, as well as highlight important issues and stories through the medium of film, a press release said.

Shabnam Khatoon is the best athlete of MANUU; wins cash award

Hyderabad, TELANGANA :

Hyderabad: 

Shabnam Khatoon has been felicitated as best athlete of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) on Friday. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, presented a cash award in recognition of her all round performance in sports events held recently during Jashn-e-Baharan, an annual event.

Shabnam, a student of B.Tech III Year, emerged as the fastest running girl of MANUU winning both 100 and 200 meter sprints. She also bagged first place in 50 kgs weight lifting event and led the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology girls’ Kabbadi team to the title.

Prof. Ainul Hasan lauded her performance and announced special coaching facility particularly for girl students at MANUU. He also felicitated Dr. A Kaleemulla, Deputy Director, Directorate of Physical Education & Sports for efficiently organizing the sports competitions.

Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor, and Chairman Sports Committee informed that MANUU has availed the services of well known badminton coach Mr. Ziaur Rahman for the students.  Mr. Muzaffar Ali is the football coach.
