Felicitation Ceremony Held on the 158th Birth Anniversary of Hakim Ajmal Khan

Tribute Paid to Hakim Ajmal Khan’s Medical Services; Awards Presented to Doctors

New Delhi:

On the occasion of the 158th birth anniversary of the eminent medical personality Hakim Ajmal Khan, a dignified felicitation ceremony was organised by the Integrated Medical Association (IMA–AYUSH) at the Ghalib Institute, Mata Sundri Lane, New Delhi. A large number of distinguished physicians and practitioners from across Delhi attended the event and paid rich tribute to Hakim Ajmal Khan’s outstanding contributions to Unani medicine.

Addressing the gathering, former Head of the Unani Department at Safdarjung Hospital, Syed Ahmad Khan, stated that Hakim Ajmal Khan elevated Unani medicine to new heights and introduced innovative treatment methods in line with modern medical requirements. He further said that Hakim Ajmal Khan’s intellectual insight and research contributions continue to serve as a guiding light for practitioners, and his medical philosophy will remain a source of inspiration for future generations.

During the ceremony, doctors associated with various medical institutions in Delhi were honoured with awards and certificates in recognition of their remarkable services. Speakers on the occasion reaffirmed their commitment to making collective efforts for the promotion of Unani medicine and for providing effective and safe treatment to the public.

At the conclusion of the programme, the organisers from the Integrated Medical Association announced that scientific and literary programmes would continue to be organised in the future to promote the ideas and medical legacy of Hakim Ajmal Khan, so that the younger generation may become acquainted with the services of this great medical leader.

On this occasion, Dr. R.S. Chauhan, in his address, said that Unani medicine is in fact a complete way of life and a balanced therapeutic system, to which Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan gave renewed vitality. He remarked that Hakim Ajmal Khan’s medical vision, research, and humanitarian approach continue to guide practitioners around the world. According to him, Hakim Ajmal Khan’s ideas hold fundamental importance in the promotion of the AYUSH system of medicine, the growing inclination toward natural healing, and the strengthening of public health. Dr. Chauhan further emphasised that introducing the younger generation to Hakim Ajmal Khan’s intellectual legacy and spirit of service to humanity is the need of the hour, so that this great treasure of Eastern medicine may be passed on to future generations.

Classical Medicines should be Preferably Used, Urdu must be Printed on Unani Medicines Packaging: Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan told AIUTC Pharmacy Wing Meet

A meeting of the Pharmacy Wing of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), New Delhi, was held under the chairmanship of Hakim Arbabuddin (Sadar Dawakhana), at the clinic of Hakim Uzair Baqai in Daryaganj here.

Addressing the meeting, the Secretary General of All India Unani Tibbi Congress, Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, emphasised that classical medicines should be used as much as possible in clinical practice. He also stressed that Unani pharmaceutical institutions must ensure that Urdu is printed on the packaging of medicines, as Urdu and Unani medicine are inseparable. He said that Urdu is the identity of Unani medicine and a matter of pride for India. He further stated that Urdu originated and flourished in India, and therefore there is a need to remain sensitive towards the language. He added that Unani medicine is in its best condition in India, and today India is the global leader in this field.

On the occasion, preparations for the World Unani Medicine Day programme scheduled to be held in Lucknow on February 12 were reviewed.

Prominent participants in the meeting included Dr. Zakiuddin, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Meerathi, Dr. Ghiyasuddin Siddiqui, Dr. Mufti Javed Anwar, Dr. Mirza Asif Beg, Dr. Faheem Malik, Hakim Naeem Raza, Hakim Mohammad Murtaza Dehlvi, Israr Ahmad Ujjaini, and Mohammad Imran Qanooji, among others.

The vote of thanks was presented by Hakim Uzair Baqai, National General Secretary of the Pharmacy Wing of the All India Unani Tibbi Congress.

Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan Elected President of Rahmaniya Education Society Executive Council

The annual meeting of the Executive Council of Rahmaniya Education Society was held at Darul Uloom Rahmaniya (a branch of Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow), located in Sangam Vihar, New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Maulana Muhammad Khalid Nadwi Ghazipuri. In this meeting, renowned social figure and medical expert Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan was unanimously elected as the new President.

On this occasion, after presenting the Secretary’s report, Maulana Muhammad Khalid Nadwi Ghazipuri congratulated Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan on his new responsibilities and extended best wishes to him. The meeting conducted a thorough review of the educational and training activities of the madrasa and deliberated on its infrastructural needs. Additionally, the proposal for the annual increment in the salaries of the madrasa’s teachers and staff was approved.

The meeting also considered the inclusion of certain necessary contemporary subjects in the madrasa’s curriculum. In light of this need, a structured plan of action was prepared and a proposal was made to implement it.

Special participants in the meeting included Maulana Shamsul Haq, Dr. Obaidur Rahman, Haji Syed Zahid Ali, Abdul Ahad, Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Muhammad Sabir, and Me’raj Khan Nadwi, all of whom shared their thoughts and emphasised the importance of expanding educational and training programmes at Darul Uloom Rahmaniya.

The meeting concluded with an emotional prayer led by Maulana Muhammad Khalid Nadwi Ghazipuri, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Maulana Me’raj Ahmad Nadwi.

AIUTC-Gujarat Pays Tribute to Hakim Maulana Abdur Razzaq Qasmi Qureshi

At a programme organised at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial Auditorium here, the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), Gujarat State, paid a rich tribute to Hakim Maulana Abdur Razzaq Qasmi Qureshi in recognition of his services.

The programme was attended by many notable personalities, including Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan (Secretary General, All India Unani Tibbi Congress),  Sajjadah Nasheen Syed Mateen Ahmad Qadri (Ahmedabad), Maulana Rizwan Al-Qasmi (Director, Jamia Ibn Abbas), Shahnawaz Sheikh (Vice Chairman, INC Minority Cell), Mufti Hakim Zaid bin M.A. Razzaq Qureshi, Suhail Tirmizi (Editor, Gujarat Today), Dr. Arun Bhatt (Treasurer, AIUTC-Gujarat), Mirza Haji Israr Baig (Corporator, Ahmedabad), Dr. Ashraf Ali Ansari (Former Member, CCIM), Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput (Vice President, AIUTC-Gujarat), Muhammad Imran Kannauji (Press Secretary, AIUTC, New Delhi), Israr Ahmad Ujjaini (National Coordinator, AIUTC)

Other notable attendees included Muhammad Yunus, Hakim Muhammad Murtaza Dehlavi, Hakim Aftab Alam, Dr. Samiullah Pathan, and Dr. Tamim Ahmad Qureshi.

The session was conducted by Dr. Muhammad Yasir Qureshi (General Secretary, AIUTC-Gujarat), who elaborated on the life and services of Hakim Maulana Abdur Razzaq Qasmi Qureshi in detail.

Shahnawaz Sheikh, while highlighting the contributions of Hakim Sahib, stated that Unani medicine was his true field of service. Hence, the most genuine tribute to him would be to actively work toward the promotion of Unani medicine in Gujarat, and he pledged all possible support for this cause.

Syed Mateen Ahmad Qadri, Sajjadah Nasheen of Dargah Ghous Pak, proposed the establishment of a Tibbiya College in Gujarat and expressed hope that the project would be realised soon. He emphasised that such a college was essential for the complete development of Unani medicine in the state.

On this occasion, Purshottam Rupala (Member of Lok Sabha from Rajkot and former Union Minister), a close associate of Hakim Maulana Abdur Razzaq Qasmi Qureshi, also paid tribute. He acknowledged Hakim Sahib’s dedication to Unani medicine and mentioned their personal association. Rupala assured his full support for the promotion of the Unani system of medicine.

AIUTC J&K Pharmacy Wing Formed, Hakeem Mohammad Ashraf Lone Named Provincial President

The National President of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), Professor Mushtaq Ahmad, has appointed renowned Unani practitioner from Baramulla, Kashmir, Hakeem Mohammad Ashraf Lone as the Provincial President of All India Unani Tibbi Congress Pharmacy Wing.

Additionally, Hakeem Imtiaz Ahmad has been named as the Vice President, and Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Dintho has been designated as the General Secretary.

The General Secretary of All India Unani Tibbi Congress, Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, in a statement, stated that the Pharmacy Wing has been established to ensure the availability of Unani medicines. He emphasised that increasing the number of Unani dispensaries is essential to ensure the public can access Unani medicines easily.

Along with assigning the responsibility of Provincial President to Hakeem Ashraf Lone, he has been requested to complete the selection process for all office-bearers in J&K within a month as per the prescribed regulations.
